About me

Lisa Murfin, Life Coach, with her family

I am a wife, mom, daughter, sister, friend, and coach. I am a lover of people (their varied personalities, languages, and cultures) and adventure seeker. My husband Chris and I have one son, Ethan, and a soon to be daughter-in-love, Esther. We live in the UK, but I am originally from the US, which you will notice the second you hear me speak. I love a good old “walkie talkie” (walk with a friend) and even better if it involves a pit stop at a café. As a keen nature lover, I currently have a goal to complete the Wales Coast Path in day and weekend breaks with Chris and anyone who cares to join us on the journey.

Before finding coaching, I enjoyed a variety of roles that provided me with experiences working cross-culturally and in the U.S. I managed an International Help Desk for a global bank, managed projects for banks and learning and development organisations, and worked as a network coordinator for FamilyLife in the UK.

Lisa Murfin, Life Coach, as a cheerleader.

I was born a cheerleader. I have always loved finding ways to bring out and celebrate the best in myself and others. It took me a while to find the path I am currently on, and that has made it such a gift to me today.

My journey was full of adventure and surprises and equally full of confusion and pain. One of my deepest wounds was the result of my attempting to live my core values of encourage, equip, and empower in a way that I now know created more sabotage in my life and in the lives of those I loved.

There was a cheer we used to shout to our football team that reminds me of my early attempts at encouraging: “Push ‘em back! Push ‘em back…WAAAAAY BACK!”This was how I treated the hard feelings or situations in my life and in the lives of my loved ones. I pushed them down, out, and away.

As a Christian, I have pursued the promise of Jesus in John 10:10 for me and anyone God brings along my path: the path of the super-abundant life.

“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” John 10:10

To me this has come to mean connection, peace of mind, and wholeheartedness. Pushing back hard feelings and pushing away from hard situations stole the abundant life I was promised, and I longed for.

Lisa Murfin Life Coach

While we served as missionaries with FamilyLife, we attended a Summer Conference that included a weeklong introduction to coaching. Around that same time, I was introduced to my first coach. I learned about and experienced the power of having a safe space to think and being asked powerful questions that helped me embrace difficult situations with honesty and courage. Learning to do this for others has become my primary focus and a major part of my journey.

Today, I am a certified health, life, and mental fitness coach, and it is the greatest privilege of my career. I work to journey with my clients in finding their true purpose, live in alignment with their values, and face the challenges of life with honesty and courage.

Rather than telling you what to do, I work to create a safe space for you to draw out the best of who you are more consistently. Together, we will find new ways of looking at life and how to handle the challenges that inevitably come our way; remembering that life is a journey and we don’t travel alone.
